January 2012 - Showcase Ireland / The Scottish Gift Fair Carolyn, Katie and Allison are flighing to Dublin for Showcase Ireland and Irelands Creative Expo on 21st-23rd January. The girls will be searching for beautiful new gifts for 2012, along with attending business seminars and listening to guest speakers at the event.
After flying back on Monday night, they will also be visiting The Scottish Gift and Food Fair at The SECC in Glasgow on Tuesday... a busy weekend of hard work! |  |

December 2011 - Christmas Thanks to all our customers for a wonderfully busy Christmas week. We had one of our busiest Christmas periods yet and believe the mild weather played a huge part in people being able to travel and shop without the snow of last winter.  | September 2011 - Van Vliet visit to The Netherlands On 11th September, Katie travelled out to Sassenheim on a 3 day work trip to meet the J. Van Vliet team based at Westland. Also, there was the chance to visit the Auctions, Growers, do some buying and experience the Dutch Markets first hand. Katie had a fantastic time and is home full of bright ideas!

 | August 2011 - FAWB Business Briefing Victoriana have been featured on the front cover of The Flower & Wholesale Buyer and inside is a 4 page spread about our business and our marketing strategies. The FAWB is a monthly magazine and must read for all retail florists. "Victoriana has come to our attention after being named as a finalist in the Best Independent Retailer category of The Greats Gift Retailer Awards 2011 and scoring extremely well in the Re:fresh Florist of the year award" - Editor Austin Clark. |

August 2011 - Helmsdale Show On 12th August Katie was asked to judge the Floral Art classes at The Helmsdale Show, Sutherland. The first class was named 'Gods & Goddesses' where each entrant was given a god or godess to inspire their arrangement. The second class was named 'Summertime' with inspiration coming from colours and themes associated with summer. The third class named 'Grean' offered entrants an opportunity to focus on recycling and their own interpretation of what 'Grean' is. The overall best exhibit in the floral art went to Margaret Cairns with her 'Summertime' entry incorporating champayne, a wine class, strawberry cocktails and shades of pink flowers including strawberries on sticks. |

 | June 2011 - Whyte & Mackay Conference We were asked to provide the flowers for The Annual Whyte & Mackay conference, held for the first time at Dalmore Distillery, Alness. The event was held in a marquee at the front of the distillery, a really beaultiful setting. Incorporating their corporate colours of rich red and deep purple, we provided various arrangements for inside the marquee and visitor centre including large pedestals, goldfish bowls filled with red roses, red gerberas, red sisal and purple grass. Also arrangements for the boardroom and lounge areas. The arrangements in the newly refurbised visitor centre all featured silver flexigrass and black foliage to co-ordinate with the charcoal interiors. |

 | June 2011 - Rev. Susan Brown: Chaplain to The Queen
On Wednesday 15th June we delivered flowers to Dornoch Cathedral for the ceremony to install Rev. Susan Brown as chaplain to The Queen. We created two gorgeous large pedestals of red, lime greem and cream flowers along with a smaller arrangement for the entrance vestibule. The flowers we used included green shamrock blooms, red anthurriums, white anastasia blooms, red grand prix roses and tropical foliage. It was a delight providing flowers for the ceremony... congratulations Susan from all at Victoriana x |

May 2011 - Van Vliet CompetitionKatie entered the Van Vliet Open Day competition to provide an arrangement 'Fit for a Queen'.
Katie who came 2nd chose to go with an arrangement inspired by 'Our Future Queen' creating an unusual arrangement in glass containers on mirrored plates. Katie used flowers in sapphire blue and white with silver grass, a sapphire engagement ring and with two small hearts symbolising the love between Kate and Will. She sprayed cymbidium orchids ivory, painted the tongues glittery blue and also included silver wire. |
March 2011 - DemonstrationRecently Katie was invited to demonstate at The Sutherland Floral Art Club with a theme 'A Contemporary Springtime'
Katie created 5 different arrangements all inspired by springtime wether it be the flowers used or the choice colours. |
